Resident Photographer

Are you a keen photographer with a good eye for capturing the atmosphere of events and showcasing the county of Herefordshire at its most vibrant? If so please do keep reading!

We are looking to appoint the first ever ‘resident’ festivals photographer this summer who will receive tickets to attend some of Herefordshire’s most exciting events, including Linton Festival, Ledbury Poetry Festival and the Hereford Indie Food Festival to name a few.

You will receive £1000 for expenses on top of the free event tickets and in return we are looking for you to supply a wide selection of photography (and ideally some videography), which can be used for the Visit Herefordshire photographic library to promote our county through printed media, social media and our online presence.

How to apply:

All you need to do to apply is email our team on info@herefordshirecountybid.co.uk by 5pm on the 15 June 2024 with the following information:

• 3 examples of your recent photography which you feel best demonstrates your photographic style and how you are well suited for our project
• Up to 150 words on why you would love to be Herefordshire’s resident festivals photographer this summer
• Your name, address, email and contact number

Terms & Conditions and Deliverables:

• Entrants must be available to attend a selection of events throughout the summer starting from late June through to late September
• Entrants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and will need their own Public Liability Insurance
• We are looking for a minimum of 10 photos from each of the Herefordshire events (minimum of six events), which can be mutually agreed with the appointed photographer, but must include the Visit Herefordshire Summer of Fun Festival (across multiple locations) in late August.
• Photos in both landscape and portrait orientation will be required
• Photos must be fully captioned and meet the brief of capturing the county’s best events, showcasing the location as the hero first and foremost, which will include countryside, market town and village locations.
• The events must be seen in the context of the location, this is key, showing off the very best assets of the county rather than close-up details.
• All photography (and any videography) must be submitted by the end of September 2024 to the above brief. One upfront payment of £300 will be made together with the event tickets, and the remaining £700 will be paid on receipt of the photography / conclusion of the contract.
• We will notify the winning photographer within a week of the competition closing.
• Visit Herefordshire reserves the right to not appoint a photographer if a suitable candidate is not found
• The deadline for entries is 15 June 2024
